Feb 26, 2004 Problem With Win 748 Powder. I'm reloading for an 03-A3, 30-06, using FA 58 match brass, Win large rifle primers, and 168 gr Sierra match king bullets. I tried 44 grs of Win 748 and got noticeable hangfires. I went up to 46 grs of 748 and got barely perceptable hangfires. I don't want to increase the powder change unless I know what I'm doing

Sep 30, 2015 There are 4 loads listed using W-748. All the data was compiled using 150gr Sierra MatchKing HPBT. Federal 210M primers were used. (From my own experience I suggest using magnum primers with ball powder in the 06'Garand. Three of the 4 loads listed use 49.0gr. These are in Federal, Lake City M, and Lake City cases

Feb 09, 2011 On the other end of the spectrum theres 10X. Burns dirtier than any suitable ball powder. Good accuracy/velocity if you can clean constantly/vigorously. FWIW ww-748 in a 6BR 1/14 twist is the dirtiest powder I've yet tried. For me in the 204 with 35's its just right. Its all about matching fouling to bore to bullet to load. YMMV
